Gerry Breslin was the former Principal of Coláiste na Carraige

Coláiste na Carraige has paid tribute to its former Principal, following the death of Gerry Breslin.

Gerry Breslin passed away peacefully at Sligo University Hospital. His Funeral Mass is scheduled for Sunday, August 24, at St Columba’s Church in Carrick. 

An online statement by Coláiste na Carraige read: “On behalf of the entire Coláiste na Carraige community, we extend our deepest condolences to Gary, Clare, Fiona, and family during this difficult time.

“Gerrard’s (Gerry’s) leadership and dedication left a lasting impact on our school, shaping the lives of countless students and staff for many years.”

Gerry Breslin was predeceased by his beloved wife Bridie, his daughter-in-law Fionnuala, his grandson Gary, his seven sisters, and six brothers. Gerry was a much-loved father to Gary, Clare, and Fiona.

He will be sadly missed by his son-in-law David, adored Grandad to Shona, Colm, Aisling, Dáire, Sinéad, Ailbhe, Harry, Eoin, Orlaith, and Liam, and a wide circle of family and friends.

Reposing at his late residence in Carrick on Saturday, August 23, from 12pm to 8pm.

Removal to St Columba’s Church, Carrick, on Sunday, August 24, for Funeral Mass at 2pm with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House private on the morning of the Funeral.
