Former Padraig's College in Meenaleck, Annagry
A former Irish college near Annagry is to become new residential accommodation and a writer’s studio, after Donegal County Council granted planning permission for the proposals.
Padraig’s College, a vacant building in the townland of Meenaleck, will be renovated, with a new wastewater treatment system, and all associated site works included in the planning application.
Annemarie Ní Churreáin was the listed applicant for the granted proposals.

Dominic Whoriskey Building Design & Surveyors, writing on behalf of Ms Ní Churreáin, said: “The property is to be restored to its original condition with the restoration of the external facade in keeping with the school style.”
Donegal County Council granted planning permission for the project with 13 conditions, including a condition that the applicant contribute €525.46 as a payment in respect of public infrastructure and facilities benefiting development in the area of the Planning Authority that is already provided or is intended will be provided by the Authority.
