The Donegal Indian Malayalee Association (DIMA) celebrated its 15th Anniversary and Onam Festival at Aura Leisure Centre, Letterkenny.
The celebrations began with a traditional vegetarian Onam feast of over 25 dishes, followed by the grand entry of King Mahabali, the legendary ruler of Kerala. Special guests, including Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher, Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn, and the Mayor Ciaran Brogan, addressed the gathering and praised the Malayalee community’s contributions in healthcare, IT, local businesses, and wider society in Donegal.

With over 400 Malayalees now settled in Donegal - most of them Irish citizens - the event highlighted unity, heritage, and the strong role the community plays in strengthening Ireland’s multicultural spirit.
