Gardai probe separate crashes at Redcastle and Greencastle within hours of each other

There were separate crashes in Redcastle and Greencastle on Sunday, September 7.

Gardai are investigating the circumstances of two separate crashes in Inishowen earlier this afternoon.

The more serious of the two incidents, a two-vehicle collision, occurred at Ballyratten, Redcastle, at approximately 2.45pm on Sunday, September 7.

Emergency services, including ambulance personnel and gardai, attended the scene, close to a well-known accident blackspot at Clar, while two people were brought to Letterkenny University Hospital as a precaution.

The main R238 road between Moville and Muff was closed for a time, with local diversions in place.

Meanwhile, gardaí and emergency services also attended an earlier two-car traffic collision about five miles away in Greencastle.

The crash in Greencastle occurred at approximately 11.40am on Sunday, September 7, and a Garda spokesperson said no injuries were reported.
