Death notices  for Donegal on Sunday morning, September 14

The following deaths have taken place:

- Adrian Brogan, Roscommon and Donegal Town

Maurice Friel, Gweedore

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Maurice Friel of Meenderrygamph, Gweedore.

Predeceased by his parents Mary and Paddy, brother Dominic and sister-in-law Annie.

Survived by his wife Maureen, daughter Donna-Marie, son Columba, grandchildren Kiera-Louise & Aimee Rose, brother Tom (Sadie), brother-in-law Fred (Carmel) and extended family & friends.

His remains will repose at Roarty’s Funeral Home, Derrybeg (F92 DN4X)  on Sunday, September 14 and Monday from 3pm until rosary at 8pm.

Removal afterwards to his late residence. House strictly private to family only.

Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, September 16 at 11am in The Church of the Sacred Heart, Dunlewey (F92 N668), with burial afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery.

John Harkin, Bridgend

The death has taken place at his home of John Harkin, 526 Bonemaine, Bridgend.

Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, his sons and daughters Maire, Michelle, Lorraine, Yvonne, John, Eamonn, James, Mark, Christopher and Derek, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, his sisters Gretta Rodgers and Mary McDowel, and his extended family and friends.

Predeceased by his daughter Carol and brothers and sisters Patrick, Frank, James, Phonsie, Kathleen and Annie.

His remains will be reposing at his home on Sunday, September 14 from 11.00am where  all are welcome to pay respects.

Removal on Tuesday, September 16 at 10.15am to St. Aengus’ Church, Burt for Requiem Mass at 11.00am, followed by interment in Burt Cemetery.

Family time please from 11.00pm to 11.00am and on the morning of the funeral. Family flowers only please.

Mary Josephine Lally, Rathmullan

The death has taken place at Aras O’Dhomhnall Nursing Home, Milford of Mary Josephine Lally, Ballyboe, Rathmullan.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph, sisters Pamela, Julia and Kathleen.

Sadly missed by her sisters Anne Potter and Philomena Crossan, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral will take place in St Joseph’s Church, Rathmullan on Monday, September 15 at 11am followed by interment in the adjacent Cemetery.

Victor Fisher, Letterkenny

The death has occurred at his home, of Victor Fisher, Annfield Grove, Kiltoy, Letterkenny, Donegal. F92 CF6A. Victor was President of Letterkenny Rovers and a former member of Letterkenny Town Council, serving three times as Mayor. 

Victor is predeceased by his parents George and Francis, baby brother Terence and Carl, sisters Isabel and Georgina; deeply regretted by his wife Helen, daughter Mairead, (Jonny), sons David (Justine), Kevin (Clara) and Barry, grandchildren, Jordan, Tori, Daragh, Luke, Renee, Rudi, Noah, Theo, Kaia Rey, Kasey Mae, great-grandson Leo, sister Eileen (Hull), in-laws, relatives, neighbours and friends.

His remains are reposing at his home from 11am on Saturday to 12 noon on Sunday.

Funeral from there at 12.45pm on Sunday, going to St Eunan's Cathedral for Funeral Mass at 1.30pm. Interment will take place afterwards in the family plot at New Leck Cemetery.

Bert Ridewood, Ballindrait

The death has taken place peacefully in the Mater Hospital, Dublin, of Bert Ridewook, Cavan Hill, Ballindrait, Lifford, Donegal, 

Predeceased by his beloved wife Kathleen Anne Ridewood, he is sadly missed by his loving daughters Amanda, Karen and Michelle and partners, grandchildren Patrick, George, Eoin, Connell, Seamus, Dylan, Conor, Mia and Finn, brother Bill (Australia), extended family members many friends and neighbours.

Bert's remains will repose in Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny, F92 XE35 on Saturday from 7pm to 9pm. House strictly private please.

Funeral on Sunday afternoon in St Patrick's Church, Murlog at 1pm followed by interment in St Columba’s, Church, Cemetery, Drumoghill.

Dominick O'Donnell, Ballybofey

The death has taken place peacefully at his home, in the loving care of his family, of Dominick (Dommie) O'Donnell, Curraghamone, Ballybofey, Donegal.

Beloved husband of Mildred and much loved father of Emma and Louise, he is predeceased by his parents Dominick and Annie, cherished brother of Nan, Kathleen, Margaret, Brigid, Bernie, Marjorie, Michael and the late Seamus and infant brother John. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his wife, daughters, brother, sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, uncle Charlie, aunt Mary, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposal of his remains continues at McCool's Funeral Home on Saturday from 5pm to 9pm.

Funeral leaving from the funeral home on Sunday at 10am, via Curraghamone, for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am. Interment will take place afterwards in Drumboe cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish Webcam

Brian Scott, Falcarragh and Down

The death has taken place of Brian Scott, Errarooey, Falcarragh, Donegal and Golf Road, Helen's Bay, Bangor, County Down. Brian passed away suddenly in his favourite place, Errarooey More, Falcarragh.

Beloved husband of Jackie and loving father of Julie, Lauren and Charlie, he will be sadly missed by his loving sons-in-law Jonny and Kit and his cherished granddaughters Isla and Ivy, who will miss their 'Pops'.

House private please.

Funeral Service in Holy Trinity Church, Hornhead Road, Dunfanaghy on Sunday at 2pm, with private cremation to follow.

Adrian Brogan, Roscommon and Donegal Town

The death has taken place of Adrian Brogan, Deerpark, Boyle, County Roscommon and formerly of O'Maolchonaire Avenue, Donegal Town. he passed away at home surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of Karen and adored father to their precious daughters, Caoimhe, Shona and Amy. Adrian is predeceased by his brother Raymond and father-in-law Cathal McGee. Adrian will be deeply missed by his parents Phyllis and Jimmy, sisters Rena (Vinnie), Denise (Shane) and Margaret (Brian), mother-in-law Mary McGee, brother-in-law Sean and sister-in-law Marie, cherished uncle to Kelsey, Chloe, Karla, Kelly, Lacey, Daniel and Aaron. Adrian will be sadly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, godchildren, extended Brogan, O'Dowd and McGee families, his colleagues in the Brothers of Charity, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

His remains are reposing at his home Deerpark, Boyle on Saturday from 3 pm to 8 pm.

Requiem Mass on Sunday at 2 pm in St Joseph's Parish Church, Boyle. Burial will follow immediately afterwards to Assylin Cemetery. The funeral Mass will be available to view on www.boyleparish.ie
