Presidential election candidate Catherine Connolly will be in Donegal today, Friday.
The Independent Galway-West TD has managed to achieve the support of Sinn Féin, the Greens, Labour, the Social Democrats, and People before Profit and is due in Donegal Town to walk around the Diamond at 11am, Killybegs Main Street at 1pm, Ardara Main Street at 2:30pm and Dungloe Main Street at 4pm.

Connolly will contest the October 24 election with Jim Gavin and Heather Humphreys. Fianna Fáil went outside its own political family to run former Dublin GAA football manager Gavin, into the contest, while Fine Gael selected retired government minister, Humphreys. The successful candidate will replace the outgoing president of Ireland, Michael D Higgins, whose second and final seven-year term of office ends in November.
