Donegal organisations, charities and people can all be nominated for a national competition, with €1500 in Donegal Town Gift Cards as a possible prize.
The Donegal Town Gift Card is backing The BIG Christmas Giveback, which aims to give back to people and organisations this festive season. It asks for nominations for local people, community groups and organisations in Donegal Town and beyond who are having a positive impact in their community.
The person or organisation with the most nominations in the competition will win a €1000 Town & City Gift Card, such as the Donegal Town Gift Card, with one person who nominated them winning a €500 gift card.
Led by Donegal Town Business Focus Group, the physical and digital Donegal Town Gift Card launched in 2024 to replace the paper Shop Local Vouchers. Over €390,000 of the new Donegal Town Gift Cards have been sold since 2024.
Gareth Britton from the Donegal Town Business Focus Group said: “Moving to the high-tech physical Donegal Town Gift Card has helped us attain the next stage of growth for our program, with over €390,000 of the cards already sold. A major benefit of the new card is how easy it is for organisations to reward their staff, availing of the Small Benefit Exemption and giving a tangible boost to Donegal Town.
“We encourage everyone to nominate a person or organisation in The BIG Christmas Giveback because Christmas is all about giving back, and both you and they could win a Donegal Town Gift Card to spend with over 60 local businesses. It’d be a great Christmas for sure!.”
The Donegal Town Gift Card is part of the award winning Town & City Gift Card concept from fintech Miconex active across Ireland.
