Myrid Carten's 'A Want In Her' is set for cinema release
A debut feature documentary from Donegal’s Myrid Carten is set to be released to cinemas across Ireland and the UK, from October 10, including at Century Cinema in Letterkenny.
Myrid Carten’s ‘A Want In Her’ follows the documentary maker as she returns from London to Donegal’s Gaeltacht to search for her alcoholic mother, who has gone missing.
The search for Myrid’s mother takes her into a feuding family, a contested house, and a history that threatens to take everyone down, including herself, as family members reveal the trials of loving someone who struggles with addiction and madness.

Myriad said, ahead of the upcoming release: “A Want In Her is a film for the big screen, and I’m delighted it will be in cinemas across Ireland and the UK in October.
“Some of the best moments of the festival run have been seeing it connect with audiences and getting messages like ‘what a feeling to be in a cinema where everyone is just entirely focused and immersed in what is happening on the screen.”
