Central Library Letterkenny will hold a workshop for Climate Action Week
Climate Action Week is coming to Central Library, Letterkenny on Friday, October 17 at 11am.
Europe Direct Letterkenny and Donegal County Council are delighted to be partnering with Michelle Murphy from The Just Transition Commission for a workshop on the European Commission’s First Report on Climate Change.
Michelle will also give an overview of the recommendations from the Introductory Report of the Just Transition Commission. The first report of Ireland’s Just Transition Commission urges the Government to develop a bold and forward-looking strategy that places just transition at the heart of national climate action.
Wopke Hoekstra, European Commissioner for Climate, Net Zero and Clean Growth said: “The science is clear – we must accelerate climate action and cut global emissions this decade. People are suffering the devastating and far-reaching impacts of climate change, with increasingly severe flooding”.
Promoting the benefits of EU membership is a corner stone objective for the European Commission. Europe Direct Letterkenny provides: information and access to publications and brochures from EU institutions, information about the Erasmus+ and Discover EU travel opportunities for young people, access to PCs to search for EU material, a freephone link to the Europe Direct Helpdesk, and events, talks, exhibitions, and competitions.
