The tallies from the Donegal portion of the Sligo-Leitrim constituency showed a 70% vote in favour of Catherine Connolly.

The figures for this part of the county also indicate a lower portion of spoiled votes than in the Donegal constituency, with around one in 20 voters spoiling their vote as compared to one in 12.

However, it should be noted that there is no way of knowing the exact vote from these ballot boxes as ballot sheets were counted as part of the overall constituency vote.

According to the tallies, there were 2,848 valid votes, of which 1,969 were for Catherine Connolly (Ind), 127 for Jim Gavin (FF), and 752 for Heather Humphreys (FG).

Of the 143 spoiled votes, it was noted that 33 contained ‘political comment’ while 46 had the name of ‘another candidate’ written onto them. The remaining 64 were classed as ‘unclear.’
