In pictures: Community groups gather for Donegal PPN event on funding opportunities

A large crowd of community representatives from across Donegal gathered at the Mount Errigal Hotel in Letterkenny on Tuesday evening for the Donegal Public Participation Network (PPN) Plenary Event. 

The evening, focused on current funding opportunities for local groups, provided valuable insights, networking and guidance for community and voluntary organisations.

The evening featured an impressive line-up of speakers outlining a range of funding streams available to community groups. 

Isabella Donnelly presented on SEAI Available Grants, Kathleen McGowan shared updates on Donegal County Council (DCC) Community Funding, Fiona Kelly introduced the DCC Community Climate Action Fund, and Tracey Hannon from Clann Credo spoke about the Acorn Fund and social finance options.

In addition to the presentations, attendees had the opportunity to visit stands showcasing the work of local services and community organisations, creating a vibrant atmosphere of collaboration and idea sharing. 

MC for the evening was Highland Radio's John Breslin.

The event was organised by Donegal PPN, which serves as a vital link between community groups and local government, ensuring that the voices of local people continue to shape policies and initiatives across the county.
