A Donegal forest park was named amongst the top 20 most visited Coillte recreational forests in Ireland in 2024.
Ards Forest Park had over 87,000 in 2024, placing it eleventh in overall in the top visited Coillte recreational forests nationwide.
The north Donegal area spans approximately 480 hectares and boasts a wide variety of habitats, wildlife, and walkways, as well as a mass rock, offering a glimpse into the area’s cultural heritage.

Avondale Forest Park in Wicklow had the most visitors in 2024 with 344,765, closely followed by Rossmore Forest Park in Monaghan.
Other parks to receive high footfall include Ticknock and Hellfire in Dublin and Donadea Forest Park in Kildare.
