According to research carried out by WHOOP, over two-thirds of Donegal adults are optimistic about living to 85

New research has revealed that Donegal adults are confident about their longevity, with over two-thirds, 68 per cent, expecting to live to over 85 years old.

WHOOP, the human performance company, has revealed that based on their current lifestyle habits, Donegal adults are more optimistic than their Dublin peers at 51 per cent. A further eight per cent believe they will live to over 95.

The research also highlights that 41 per cent of Donegal adults believe regular exercise is the single most important factor in living a long and healthy life, while nearly one in five, 18 per cent, attribute longevity to genetics or luck.

According to the research, Donegal adults do not believe that good sleep has any impact on long term health, at zero per cent. Amongst local adults, physical activity levels vary, with over a third, 35 per cent, admitting to not exercising, while more than a quarter, 26 per cent, manage at least 30 minutes of moderate activity, five days a week.
