Speeding motorist fined after being caught driving at 130kph

Clady resident was fined for speeding on N15 near Barnesmore Gap

A motorist was fined €350 at Donegal District Court after he was caught driving at a speed of 130kph on the N15.

Paul Wray, 48, of 22 Tullymoan Road, Clady, Strabane, Northern Ireland, was not in attendance at the hearing held at Ballyshannon Courthouse.

Judge Éiteáin Cunningham heard Wray was travelling on February 23, 2025, on the N15 at Birchhall, between Donegal Town and the Barnesmore Gap at 130kph on a road with a speed limit of 100kph. 

The judge was told that Mr Wray had no previous convictions as she handed a fine of €350 to Wray for being contrary to Section 47 of the Road Traffic Act 1961 (as inserted by Section 11 of the Road Traffic Act 2004) and Section 102 of the Road Traffic Act as amended by Section 18 of the Road Traffic Act 2006.
