The volunteer crew of the Arranmore RNLI laid a wreath at the site of the Arranmore Disaster this morning to commemorate 90 years since 19 people from the island lost their lives.
Twenty people left Burtonport on November 9, 1935, to travel to Arranmore, 13 returning from Scotland where they had been working seasonally and seven more who had come from the island, with only one - Paddy Edward Gallagher - surviving after the boat hit a rock in a storm.
