A site just over 1 hectare in size, just off Chapel Road, is the proposed location for the development.
The site was subject to a granted planning permission application in 2004, which would have seen the construction of 34 houses.
In the Design Statement supporting the application, MH Associates stated: “In our opinion, the proposed development represents a high-quality residential scheme which has been designed to help to diversify the housing stock in An Clochan Liath and to help address the ongoing housing need.”
Donegal County Council granted planning permission with 23 conditions, including a condition that prior to the commencement of the development, the developer shall provide adequate security to the Planning Authority for the provision and completion of all services required in the sum of €155,000, either by a bond of a banking or insurance company, or a cash deposit, or another such security that the Council may approve.
Another condition which was enforced was for the applicant to pay a contribution of €62,766.01 in respect of public infrastructure and facilities benefiting development in the area of the Planning Authority that is already provided or is intended will be provided by the Authority.
