Daft.ie report details 18% rise of Donegal double bedrooms with ensuite rental cost

Donegal tenants saw extra costs in rental prices

The cost of renting a double bedroom with an ensuite in Donegal increased by 18% in the last 12 months, a growth far larger than any other county in the country.

A Daft.ie Rental Report for Quarter 3 of 2025, highlights the cost of renting in Donegal and the rest of the country, and noted the huge increase in rents for double bedrooms with an ensuite.

Cavan saw the second-highest rental increase for double bedrooms with an ensuite at 11%, whereas at the provincial level, rents increased from a range of 4.4% to 6.2%.

A double bedroom with an ensuite in a house in Donegal would now set back a tenant of €605 monthly.

Within Donegal, the average rent for a single bedroom in a house increased by 5%, and a double bedroom with no ensuite in a house increased by 10.6%.

Commenting on the report, a representative of Daft.ie said: “The rise of the volume of room rentals over the last decade, as well as their price, is another indicator of the significant market pressure.”

A one-bed apartment in Donegal saw the biggest increase in price, with the average price in Donegal now at €1,009, up by more than 15% from the year prior.

Elsewhere, the price of a three-bed house rose by 7.8% to €1,316, and a two-bed house increased by 5.5% to €1,147.

An average four-bedroom rental property in Donegal saw its rental price increase by 4.3% to €1,441, and the price of a two-bed apartment rose by 4.1% to €1,158.

Despite the price increases elsewhere, the cost of renting a five-bed house in Donegal reduced by 1% to €1,529.
