Olivia Robb was known for her vibrant personality and kindness to others
Tributes have been paid to Newtowncunningham woman Olive Robb (nee Conlon) who has passed away aged 49 after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
Known for her vibrant personality and kindness to others, Olivia passed away on Thursday at Letterkenny University Hospital.
Originally from Woodvale, Sligo, she had lived in Donegal since 1994 and was a familiar face in Penney's Letterkenny, where she worked for 30 years.
She was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in January 2024. Her family, the local community and colleagues rallied around her, and a fundraising campaign was set up. Speaking at the time, one of the organisers said: “Olivia is an amazing woman. She is so compassionate to others and is literally the bravest woman I know.”
Tributes paid to Olivia have described her as “a beautiful person” who was "always smiling and a kind word for everyone”.
She is survived by her husband Brendan and daughter Lisa, her father Bertie Conlon, brothers Tony, Brian and Adrian, sister Ann-Marie Sheridan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, her devoted Shih Tzu Buttons and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.
Olivia is predeceased by her mother Teresa and sister-in-law Stephanie.
Her funeral will take place on Sunday with 1pm requiem Mass at All Saints Church Newtowncunningham.
