Swan-Nets Gundry Ltd's premises in Killybegs

A significant Killybegs employer has applied to Donegal County Council to extend their facilities by nearly 50% in size.

Swan-Net Gundry Ltd has applied for their factory premises on Roshin Road, Killybegs, to be extended.

The company specialises in manufacturing netting, especially netting used in the fishing and sports industry. 

Listed applicant, Paul McCrea, the Managing Director of Swan-Net Gundry Ltd, has applied for the construction of a pitch roof single-storey extension to the rear of the net production building, and a single-storey lean-to-roof extension to the side of the net production facility, to include all associated site development works.

The proposed plans will see an increase in gross floor works area of 1,076 sq metres, from the currently available 2,173.4 sq metres. 

Swan-Let Gundry Ltd was a merger between two Killybegs businesses in 2002. Originally, Gundry’s Ltd was established in 1968, and Swans Net Ltd was founded four years later in 1972. 

A retail store at Kelly’s Quay in Killybegs was opened in 2017. 

Donegal County Council has announced a decision due date for the submitted planning application for January 20, 2026.
