Yellow Weather Warning for windin place for Donegal this afternoon

Met Éireann has issued a Yellow Wind Warning for Donegal, with strong and gusty west to northwest winds expected to affect the county this afternoon.

The alert comes into force at 12pm on Sunday, 23 November, and will remain in place until 4pm.

Forecasters warn that the unsettled conditions may lead to fallen branches, loose debris and challenging travel conditions, particularly on exposed routes and coastal areas. Motorists are advised to take extra caution, while homeowners and businesses are encouraged to secure outdoor items that could be displaced by sudden gusts.

The weather system is expected to move through quickly, but brief periods of hazardous wind are likely during the warning window. Emergency services are urging the public to remain vigilant and to avoid unnecessary travel during peak gusts.

Donegal is among the areas expected to be most affected as the blustery conditions pass over the northwest. Met Éireann will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
