In Pictures: Donegal footballer Gavin Mulreany cuts the ribbon for new agri store

There was a great turnout from the community as Boyle Agri Supplies Country Store opened in Drimarone

Despite the inclement weather, there was a fantastic turnout from the Letterbarrow community and beyond for the opening of Boyle Agri Supplies Country Store in Drimarone. Click on the arrows to see a gallery of photos from the opening:

Bruckless man Michael Boyle, known to many as a local councillor, took over the store during the summer. It was previously run as Drimarone co-op by Seamus Sheerin for 40 years. Cllr Boyle is keen to remain true to the community ethos while putting his own stamp on the store.

He told Donegal Live: “Seamus ran a great shop here, and it is very important to me to keep that sense of community. One of the things that I have done here is to have a farm shop with local produce to give an outlet to local farmers and suppliers.

“We have all the usual farm supplies - fencing, equipment, tools and animal feed.”

The store also stocks animal care supplies, workwear, household items, and there is even a Christmas section with a lovely range of seasonal decorations.

“It is great to see so many people here today,” said Michael. “I am very grateful for the warm welcome I have received from the community.

“I would like to thank the staff here for all they do and in particular for getting everything ready for today.”

The ribbon was cut by St Naul’s and Donegal footballer Gavin Mulreany who brought the Anglo Celt cup along, much to the delight of those present.

Proceedings then moved to the adjacent Bluestack Centre where everyone enjoyed a most welcome cup of tea or coffee and finger food.
