Council Executive responds to question on septic tanks
The Executive of Donegal County Council confirmed that all septic tank grant applications made within Donegal Municipal District in the last three years have been approved and paid.
At December’s Donegal Municipal District meeting, the area Cathaoirleach, Cllr Micheál Naughton, forwarded a question, which asked: “Can I get the number of septic tanks grant applications for the Donegal Municipal District in the last three years and how many grants have been paid?”

In a response signed off by executive member Joe Ferry, the council executive stated: “In the last three years for Donegal Municipal District, 15 septic tank grant applications were made, and all 15 were paid out.
“A total of 24 inspections were completed in 2025, of which 19 were compliant, five were non-compliant and received grant funding for remedial works.”
