Donegal Women's Centre shares emergency contact details for Christmas

Over the Christmas and New Year period, Donegal Women’s Centre wishes to share an important message with the public.

While this time of year can be positive for some, it can be incredibly challenging for others. If you or someone you know is feeling low, struggling with depression, experiencing domestic abuse, or feeling unsafe, please know that help is available. Donegal Women’s Centre will be closed from Tuesday, December 13, at 1pm and will reopen on Monday, January , but vital support services remain available throughout the holiday period.

If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, or where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, please contact An Garda Síochána on 112 or 999, or your local Garda Station in Donegal. For emotional support, you can contact Samaritans on Freephone 116 123, available 24 hours a day.

You can also free-text HELLO to 50808, a confidential, anonymous 24/7 text service with a trained volunteer. Pieta’s Free 24/7 Crisis Helpline is available on 1800 247 247, or you can text HELP to 51444. For domestic abuse support, contact Donegal Domestic Violence Services on Freephone 1800 262 677 or mobile 087 381 2438. Support is also available from the National 24 hour Rape Crisis Helpline 1800 77 8888, and SATU (Sexual Assault Treatment Unit, Letterkenny) on 087 068 1964. Please reach out, share these numbers, and remember, support is available and you do not have to face this alone.
