A male youth has been released without charge following a seizure of €38,000 worth of drugs in Letterkenny.
The man was arrested when Gardaí from the Donegal Divisional Drugs Unit searched a residential property on December 19 and recovered approximately €38,000 worth of controlled drugs. He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, where he was questioned. However, he has since been released without charge, pending a file for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The drugs seized - quantities of cannabis, cocaine, ketamine and ecstasy (pending analysis), as well as a sum of cash - will be sent to FSI for analysis.
“Investigations are ongoing,” a garda spokesperson said. “Gardaí are appealing for anyone who has information in relation to the sale and supply of controlled substances in Donegal or the border region to contact the Donegal Divisional Drugs Unit on 074 916 7100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.”
