Senator Manus Boyle was “delighted” with the attendance of the annual Light The Night Run on the evening of December 28, between Killybegs and Ardara.

The Mid West Donegal Vintage Club hosted the event, which serves a vital purpose by raising funds for Little Blue Heroes and other local charities.

This year’s event was poignantly dedicated in memory of David Kee, and Kee’s Trucks led out the run.

The festive spectacle, which has become a staple of the holiday calendar in the region, invited owners of all kinds of vehicles to deck their machines in twinkling lights and holiday décor.

While the event was led by the club's signature vintage tractors, organisers also extended a warm welcome to lorries, vans, and cars joining the convoy.

An online statement by Senator Boyle read: “Delighted with the large turnout for our annual charity run this evening. It was another fantastic event.

“The run this year was in memory of the late David Kee. It was lovely to see so many of Kee’s lorries lead the run. The run was held in aid of Little Blue Heroes and other local charities.

“Special thanks to our Honorary Gardaí Matthew and Luke for coming along to help us.

“A big thanks to ‘The Team,’ especially Daniel Moy and Declan Lovett, for all their hard work, the McHugh family for the use of their yard, An Garda Síochána for their assistance, all who participated and to everyone who lined the streets and roadside to cheer us on.

“Your support was very much appreciated. See you all next year.”
