Roads across Donegal  to be gritted with temperatures set to drop below freezing

All Donegal County Council’s winter maintenance designated gritting routes are to be treated on Saturday

Donegal County Council has warned road users to assume that no road is ice free.

Roads across Donegal are to be gritted on Saturday afternoon with temperatures set to drop below freezing.

Status yellow warnings for snow and ice in Donegal are in place at different times over the weekend until Monday.

All Donegal County Council’s winter maintenance designated gritting routes are to be gritted from 2pm.

Met Éireann says Saturday night will see lowest temperatures of -3 to 0 degrees.

The routes that will be gritted are : 01: National Primary North, 02: National Primary Central, 03: National Primary South, 04: Inishowen South, 05: Inishowen East, 06: Inishowen West, 07: Milford South, 08: Milford North, 09: Cill Ulta East, 10: Cill Ulta West, 11: Na Rosa, 12: Binswilly, 13: Stranorlar North, 14: Stranorlar East, 15: Stranorlar West, 16: Donegal West, 17: Donegal North, 18: Donegal South, 19: Donegal National Secondary, BT: Buncrana Town and LT: Letterkenny Town.

Donegal County Council's interactive map can be checked for gritting routes. The council has warned road users to assume that no road is ice free.
