Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Snow-Ice Warning for Donegal
Donegal County Council has confirmed that all main routes across the county will be gritted from 3pm this afternoon.
With further snowfall and freezing conditions forecast tonight, selected routes will also be treated from 6am tomorrow morning, Tuesday.
All main gritting routes, approximately 1,148 km of road, will be treated from 3pm today and the Tuesday morning routes include 01: National Primary Northl 02: National Primary Central; 03: National Primary South; 04: Inishowen South; 05: Inishowen East; 07: Milford South; 08: Milford North; 09: Cill Ulta East; 12: Binswilly; 13: Stranorlar North; 14: Stranorlar East; 15: Stranorlar West; 16: Donegal West; 17: Donegal North; 18: Donegal South; 19: Donegal National Secondary NS and LT: Letterkenny Town.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Snow-Ice Warning for Donegal. Wintry showers with sleet and snow accumulations and temperatures are expected to drop to -3°C overnight. The warning in place from 11am today until 9am Tuesday.
"Please take care on all roads, particularly overnight and early tomorrow morning," Donegal County Council said. "Conditions may still be hazardous even after gritting."
