Meenaroy impassible and temporarily closed due to hazardous conditions

The R250 is closed this morning

Donegal Council are advising the public that the R250 at Meenaroy is impassible and temporarily closed due to hazardous conditions this Friday morning.

"Vehicle users are advised to avoid until further advised," the council said. Meanwhile, some local bus services in the area are not running this morning.

McGeehan's Coaches posted: "We are cancelling the following services due to treacherous road conditions caused by black ice.
07:40 Killybegs to Letterkenny, 11:00 Letterkenny to Killybegs, Maghera School Run serving Glenties Comprehensive and Bracky, Fintown School Run serving The Comp, Eidininfagh N/S and Ballinamore, Churchill and Glenswilly School Run serving both national and secondary schools in Letterkenny

"We will update later today regarding the rest of the services. A warning for anybody travelling by car, there is a gritter off the road shortly after Fintown, therefore Meenaroy and into Breenagh is in a very dangerous state."
