Buncrana native Julie Galbraith has been appointed General Counsel and Chief Business Officer at Ireland’s largest nationwide Insurance broker, Arachas.

In her new role, Ms Galbraith will have responsibility for Legal, Human Resources, and Marketing & Communications, bringing together her extensive legal experience, people leadership skills, and business insight to support Arachas as it continues to expand.

Julie joins Arachas from international law firm Eversheds Sutherland, where she led the Employment Law Department. She is already well known to the business, having acted as a trusted legal advisor to Arachas for more than twelve years. Her strong background in employment law and corporate governance positions her well to take on this senior strategic role.

Originally from Buncrana, Julie remains deeply connected to Donegal and is actively involved in the GAA. She serves on the GAA Central Hearings Committee and is a member of the Board of Croke Park Stadium. A mum of two daughters, Nóra and Ailbhe, Julie brings her focus on hard work, excellence, and resilience into both her work and home life.

Speaking about her new role, Julie said she was delighted to join a company she has worked closely with for many years. “Having worked closely with Arachas for many years, I’m thrilled to join the team. It’s a fantastic business with brilliant people, and I’m really looking forward to contributing to the company’s continued success,” she said.

“We have grown our team from 200 staff a few years ago to over 780 today. I will support our teams in delivering outstanding outcomes for our people, our clients, and our communities in Donegal and nationwide,” added the Buncrana woman.
