Community invited to visit stunning new €20m Moville school building next week

The new-look Moville Community College is one of the finest schools in the country.

The entire community is invited to come along and view the stunning new Moville Community College building for themselves at the start of next week.

A public open evening will take place on Monday, January 19, from 5pm until 6.30pm, with everyone welcome to come along to explore the high-level new facilities and learning spaces.

Student leaders will be on hand throughout the evening to offer guidance and tours of the fantastic €20 million-plus facility, which overlooks Lough Foyle on a beautiful site on the outskirts of Moville town.

The massive Moville Community College extension officially opened for students earlier this month, almost exactly ten years after funding of €10m was announced for the major refurbishment.

It is the biggest capital project in Moville history.

Construction work began in the summer of 2023 on the 5,274 square-metre building, which comprises ten general classrooms, ten specialist teaching rooms, a large-scale PE Hall, canteen, library, staff room, offices, and a special needs suite.

Major ground works, including a new network of ring roads and car parking spaces, have also been created, as the MCC refurbishment project nears completion, with some demolition works and entrance widening still to be finished during Phase Two.

The school said it looks forward to showing off everything it has to offer during the public open evening on January 19, which will be immediately followed by an open evening for incoming first-year students and their parents from 7pm-8.30pm.
