Greencastle Community Centre says it’s thrilled to announce the official launch of its new Indoor Bowls Club, offering a fantastic way for participants to stay active, socialise, and master a new skill.
Thanks to grant funding from the Sports Capital Fund, the centre has been fully equipped with professional-grade materials, including a brand-new mat and a full set of bowls.
The club currently meets every Tuesday morning (11am-1pm) at the Greencastle Community Centre sports hall, with everyone welcome.
These sessions are designed to be inclusive and welcoming, providing a relaxed environment for anyone looking to pick up a new hobby or enjoy a morning of light physical activity and conversation.
Building on the success of the morning club, the centre will launch new evening sessions, starting Thursday, March 5th, from 7pm until 9pm.

These sessions are perfect for complete beginners to learn the basics, improvers to sharpen their technique, or anyone interested in some friendly competition.
“Indoor bowls is a brilliant sport for all ages and abilities,” explains Community Centre Manager Susan McAleer.
“Whether you’re here for the competition or just for a cup of tea and a chat, it’s a wonderful way to bring the community together. We are incredibly grateful to the Sports Capital Fund for making this possible,” Susan added.
