A cheque worth €8210 was presented to Donegal Hospice from a one million step challenge completed last year.

Dáire Boyle presented Mary Coyle from Donegal Hospice with the cheque. The funds were raised from his GoFundMe, set up for the challenge undertaken during Lent.

A teacher from Letterkenny, Dáire took on the challenge in memory of his mother Grace Boyle and his grandfather Phil Bán Boyle.

Dáire was inspired by his mother’s love of walking and her encouragement to take up something new for Lent. Dáire also chose to raise funds for Donegal Hospice for taking “excellent care” of his grandfather in his final days.
