The burglary incident took place in Letterkenny
Jewellery was stolen from a house in Letterkenny during a break-in and burglary
The burglary occurred in the area of Sprackburn Drive on Friday, February 20 between 3:30pm and 8:30pm.
The rear door of the house was forced open and damage was also caused to a rear window. Entry was gained and some jewellery was stolen, namely six gold rings, a silver ring and a gold bracelet with the initials ‘Mmc’ on it.
“We appeal to anyone who may have observed any type of suspicious activity, vehicles or people in that area between those times, to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100,” said Garda Sean Sweeney. “Should anyone have any relevant information in relation to this incident, we ask them to contact us at the Garda Station or via the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.”
Gardaí are advising the public to lock up and light up their houses, particularly if the house will be vacant for a period of time. This comes in light of recent burglaries.

“If you are going on holidays, do not post about your plans on social media and do ask a neighbour or family member to keep an eye on your property for you while you are away.
“Keep an eye on vulnerable/elderly neighbours and family members and ensure that they are security conscious. Please alert Gardaí if you feel that someone you know would benefit from a visit from us to have a chat about home security measures and we will arrange that.”
