Gardai have issued advice to motorists to reduce the risk of theft from vehicles.
“We wish to remind motorists to park in a well-lit area if possible, always ensure that your vehicle is locked when unattended regardless of where it is parked.
“Never leave handbags, laptops, purses or anything of value within view in the vehicle. These items will attract thieves!
“Never leave valuables or large amounts of money in your vehicle. Should you ever observe anyone checking out vehicles (looking in the windows or trying door handles), we ask you to report the matter to Gardaí immediately.”
