St Johnston road to remain closed this morning after 'serious' road traffic collision

The collision occurred between 11pm and midnight on the R236 on the main Derry road in an area close to the Presbyterian Church

The R236 will remain closed for 'a number of hours'

A main road in St Johnston will remain closed for some time following a serious road traffic collision last night.

The collision occurred between 11pm and midnight on the R236 on the main Derry road in an area close to the Presbyterian Church.

Local diversions are currently in place and motorists are advised to take an alternative route.

The R236 road, a stretch of the main Lifford-Derry road, and the local Church Street road are expected to remain closed for “a number of hours”.
