€38,000 in capital funding for community projects in Kilcar and Gaoth Dobhair

Over €38,000 in capital funding has been announced for two community projects in the Donegal Gaeltacht.

The allocations are €31,837 for lonad Lae Ghaoth Dobhair to purchase essential kitchen equipment for the Gaoth Dobhair Day Centre, which provides services to senior citizens and Alzheimer’s respite and €5,221 for the Kilcar Parish Hall Committee, to purchase sound equipment and carry out fireproof painting of the hall, ensuring the hall remains a safe and functional space for community groups and events. The hall is also used as an Irish college.

Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher, Fianna Fáil, said the funding will provide a real boost to both local community facilities that play an essential role in their local area.
