CCTV footage captured litter being left on Glenties Main Street.

The video evidence has been checked and will be handed over to the relevant authorities.

“Hopefully this leads to a prosecution,” Cllr Carr said.  “At the last Environment and Climate SPC meeting, I raised the ongoing illegal dumping between Maas and Ardara (Tullys) after concerns were brought to my attention by land owners and road users."

Cllr Brian Carr of Sinn Féin was making the comments after a bag of litter was left in Glenties Main Street, where there had been a skip that was in use due to work at a local shop, but was since removed.

“We discussed the possibility of installing covert cameras and signage on this route. This has to stop. If you see anyone littering or dumping rubbish, report them.”
