Easter Express returns to Raphoe’s Oakfield Park for springtime family fun

The Easter Express is a great day out for the family.

Oakfield Park will welcome families this Easter with the return of The Easter Express, running from April 3 to 6, from 12pm to 6pm daily.

Designed as a relaxed springtime adventure, the event offers a full day of activities for children and families to enjoy at their own pace.

The experience begins with a scenic train journey through the park, where colourful Easter decorations and springtime scenery set the tone for the day. Once off the train, families can explore the park and take part in an interactive Easter Hunt, where children meet a range of themed characters as they solve clues and complete challenges.

Characters include the Easter Bunny, the Mad Hatter, the Spring Fairy, the Keeper of Spring, Woodland Friends, the Busy Bumblebee, and the Queen of Hearts with her Playing Card Guards. Each character offers a fun activity or story as part of the hunt.

Additional attractions include Peter Rabbit’s indoor craft workshop, a petting zoo with real bunnies, face painting, and an Easter gift shop. Children who complete the hunt can swap their token for a chocolate Easter treat.

There will be plenty of photo opportunities throughout the park, with a professional photographer available for family portraits. Each child will also receive a seed card to take home, encouraging them to “plant spring at home”.

Buffers Restaurant will be serving delicious food & tasty treats till 5.15 pm each day.
