Have your say on the future of Buncrana, with regeneration meeting next month

A key meeting on future plans for Buncrana will be held at the Inishowen Gateway Hotel on April 8, with all welcome.

A public workshop aimed at shaping the future of Buncrana is set to take place next month, as part of ongoing efforts to develop a new regeneration strategy and action plan for Inishowen’s largest town.

The event, organised by ACT Consultants in collaboration with the Buncrana Town Team, will be held at the Inishowen Gateway Hotel on Wednesday, April 8, from 6pm-8pm.

It marks the first in a series of interactive sessions designed to gather input from the local community and key stakeholders.

The workshop, titled ‘Storytelling’, will focus on building a shared understanding of Buncrana’s strengths, challenges and opportunities. It forms part of a wider Town Centre First Plan, a collaborative and community-led initiative aimed at identifying key environmental, economic and social priorities for the town.

Through a co-design process, residents, business owners and decision-makers will be invited to contribute ideas and help shape a long-term vision for Buncrana.

A second workshop, 'Visualising Futures', will follow, with both sessions contributing to the development of a practical and deliverable masterplan, including priority projects and a roadmap for implementation.

Cllr Fionan Bradley, Buncrana-based Fianna Fáil County Councillor and chair of the Town Team, is encouraging as many people as possible to attend.

He said community input is vital to ensuring the regeneration strategy reflects local needs and ambitions, urging residents to take the opportunity to have their say on the town’s future.
