iMotors to host sensory evening to mark World Autism Awareness Day

Light refreshments will be provided, and a friendly, knowledgeable team will be on hand throughout the evening to offer support and answer any questions

This Thursday evening, the usual buzz of iMotors’ showroom in Drumkeen will give way to a calm and comfortable setting in recognition of World Autism Awareness Day.

With soft lighting, reduced noise and a calm, welcoming atmosphere, the family-run dealership aims to highlight the importance of inclusion and accessibility for those with autism.

For many, environments like a car showroom, with bright lights, loud conversations and constant movement, can feel overwhelming.

But from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Thursday evening, the team at iMotors are stripping that back to create a calm, sensory-friendly experience for all.

Speaking about the upcoming event, Sales Manager, Aidan Sweeney, said: “This initiative reflects our commitment to inclusion and accessibility.

“We’re proud to support World Autism Awareness Day by offering a more relaxed and welcoming environment for all,” iMotors said.

On Thursday evening, visitors can expect a quiet, music-free showroom and a relaxed, no-pressure atmosphere, allowing them to explore at their own pace.

Guests will have the option to prebook a test drive to minimise waiting times, while a dedicated sensory corner will be available for children.

Light refreshments will be provided, and a friendly, knowledgeable team will be on hand throughout the evening to offer support and answer any questions.
