‘Passenger door of parked car swung open’ colliding with vehicle in Donegal

Gardaí are appealing following a collision with a parked vehicle in Donegal.

The incident occurred at around 10pm on Thursday, March 26. The driver in question was travelling from Ramelton to Milford, specifically the R245 at Blacks Glen, when she observed the headlights of a parked vehicle on her side of the road.

“She drove around the parked car slowly and as she did so, the passenger door of the parked car swung open and it collided with her car,” Garda Grainne Doherty said. “Damage was caused to the paintwork of her car and a light was broken.

“A number of youths were in the parked car and words were exchanged between them and the driver before they left the scene in the car in question in the direction of Ramelton. Their car was dark blue in colour and the passenger side window was smashed.

“We appeal to any motorists who may have travelled along that route between 9.30pm and 10.30pm with a dash-cam to get in touch with Milford Gardaí on 074-9153060. Any relevant information should be passed on to Gardaí there also.”
