Midlands Mary chosen for 2026 Mary from Dungloe International Arts Festival

Clodagh Doughty has been selected as the Midlands representative for the 59th Mary from Dungloe International Arts Festival. 

Clodagh, who is from Athboy, County Meath, was chosen as the 2026 Midlands Mary at a selection event held in the Cavan Crystal Hotel. The 2025 Midlands Mary Tarragh Brady, the 2025 Connacht Mary, Caragh Ryan, and the 2025 Donegal Mary, Alanna O’Leary, were in attendance at the event.

Including the recent selection, eight representatives have been chosen for the 2026 festival so far. Jamie-Mai Nic Giolla Easbuic has been selected as the 2026 Gaeltacht Mary. Shauna McDonagh is the Dungloe Mary, Gracie Trimble for the Wild Atlantic Way and Rhiana Wasson representing the county as Donegal Mary. Eva O’Sullivan is representing London, Maria Neely will wear the sash for Glasgow, while the 2026 Connacht Mary is Katie McClafferty.

Last year, fifteen ladies were selected and Dungloe Mary Ellie Ward was crowned Mary from Dungloe at the annual Crowning Cabaret. This year’s festival is scheduled to take place from Saturday, July 25, to Monday, August 3.
