Naomh Pairc Columba of Glenswilly GAA
Donegal GAA Senior Football Club, Glenswilly GAA, have been granted planning permission by Donegal County Council for the erection of six floodlight columns at their existing pitch at Pairc Naomh Columba.
The three-time Donegal Senior Football Championship winners, who feature Michael Murphy amongst their ranks, successfully applied for a development to consist of six 21-metre-high galvanised floodlighting columns with hooded floodlights to the existing Gaelic pitch and all associated site works at Glenswilly GAA.
Former club manager and current Club Development Officer, Michael Canning, is the listed applicant for the planning application.
Donegal County Council granted the application planning permission with four conditions, imposed to remove the potential for significant disturbance to local ecology, to reduce escape and spillage of light to sensitive areas, for the interest of traffic safety, to prevent water pollution, and to preserve the amenities of the area.
