Respects paid following recent passing in Cavan of Dungloe-born Garda Sergeant

Charles John was one of the Donegal GAA team’s most loyal supporters

Deep regret was occasioned by the recent death of Mr Charles John Glackin, Virginia, Co Cavan, and originally from Tuberkeen, Dungloe.

He was a member of a well-known and highly respected local family. After completing his education, he joined An Garda Siochana and was stationed as a Garda Sergeant in Virginia  for a long time, up until his retirement.

Charles John passed away peacefully at Virginia Primary Care Centre surrounded by his loving family on March 14. He was predeceased by his wife Mary and son Paul.

He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family and friends. His son Joseph daughter Imelda sister Brigid Annie. Daughters in law, Grandchildren,Great grandchildren, nieces, nephews relatives and friends.

Charles John was a lovely, friendly man and was one of the Donegal GAA team’s most loyal supporters, travelling to all their matches. Deepest sympathy to his sister Ms Bridget Glackin, Lettermacaward, sons, daughters and family circle.
