Old Letterkenny site a 'mess and a haven for anti-social behaviour and rodents'

Cllr Devine said the former bakery premises had become a source of concern for local residents

Serious concerns have been raised over the condition of the former Model Bakery site in Oldtown in Letterkenny, with ongoing anti-social behaviour.

The issue was raised with the council environment department by 100% Redress Councillor Tómas Seán Devine, who said he had been in contact with officials over the derelict site.

Cllr Devine said the former bakery premises had become a source of concern for local residents.

“The actual site is a mess and a haven for anti-social behaviour and rodents and so on,” he said. “Between young ones sniffing gas, the list goes on about what happens there. It needs to be looked into.”

The executive agreed to examine the issues raised by Cllr Devine at Tuesday's meeting of the Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District.
