Donegal Town Tidy Town Committee thanked volunteers who took part in a Sunday clean-up of Donegal Town during An Taisce’s National Spring Clean Month.
The clean-up took place on Sunday, April 19, in Donegal Town from the roundabout at Drumlonagher to the Tully Hill roundabout.
Over a dozen volunteers were present in the clean-up, organised by Donegal Town Tidy Towns in conjunction with the Leghawney Community Group. The resulting rubbish was later collected by Donegal County Council.
Amongst items found to be disposed of properly included large window frames, which Donegal Town Tidy Towns committee member, Owen Howells, said indicated a “certain amount of flytipping.”

Regarding the clean-up, Owen commented: “It is something we do. There are two roads we do once a year.
“Possibly in a couple of weeks, we will go from Biddy’s O’Barnes to Drumlonagher, as it is a bigger stretch of road. We were supposed to do that a couple of weeks ao but the weather was so bad.
“The Tidy Towns Committee do regular summer clean-ups during May, June and July.
“We at the Tidy Towns Committee to thank the volunteers who came up on Sunday.”
