The Rosbeg horses

Encountered these lads on the way to Rosbeg. The road from Ardara to Rosbeg was called the Santa Ana drive and I was wondering how it got that name. Turns out that in 1588 violent gales carried some Spanish Armada ships close to the west Donegal coast, and one of those ships, the Santa Ana, shipwrecked off Rosbeg. The commander and his surviving crew marched through Ardara to Killybegs, where they joined another armada ship, the Girona. The Girona set sail for Spain later that year with 1300 on board but was wrecked off the Antrim coats with the loss of all but nine lives
