Pólifreann/Hells Hole, Malin Head


This cross along Hells Hole at Malin Head is about as far north as you can get on this island. The scene is like something out of a pirate film with its small wooden cross and rusted coins on a small alter. The cross is said to have been erected some years ago in the memory of a young French man who drowned off Malin Head. I can make out Samuel (something) age 21 ...
