It is hoped that the St Patrick's Day parade in Donegal Town can be salvaged
The people of Donegal Town are being offered one last chance to save the long established St Patrick’s Day parade.
It was announced following a very poorly attended public meeting earlier this week that there would be no parade this year due to lack of people coming forward to help.
See: Is it the end of the line for the St Patrick's Day parade in Donegal Town?
However, given the widespread expressions of disappointment to the news, a last ditch attempt is being made to salvage the parade.
A further public meeting will take place in the Central Hotel on Tuesday, February 15 at 8pm. Anyone who can offer their services is encouraged to attend. As the saying goes, many hands make light work and the more people involved, the less burden there will be on individuals.
Members of the business community in particular are invited to come forward to play a role in organising an event that is of great benefit to the town.
