Status yellow snow and ice warning for Donegal

The warning is for wintry showers and icy conditions

Donegal motorists warned to expect ice on every road

Met Éireann says the north-west will be hit by showers of snow, hail and sleet

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow warning for snow and ice for Donegal.
The warning, which was issued on Wednesday morning and also covers Leitrim and Sligo, is for wintry showers and icy conditions from 5pm on Wednesday until 11am on Thursday.
The forecaster says there will be scattered showers on Wednesday night, some heavy with hail. Isolated thunderstorms are possible too.
There will be some sleet and snow showers also, mainly over higher ground. The lowest temperatures will be between -1 and +2 degrees with frost and icy patches forming.
The UK’s Met Office has issued a yellow warning for wintry showers bringing a risk of ice which covers all of Northern Ireland from 6pm on Wednesday until 10am on Thursday.
